We want to provide some important information about how the 15/30 hours of government funding work at Fairyland Nursery.

Can I use 15/30 hours of funding at Fairyland Nursery?

-Yes, we accept 15 and 30 hours of funding from the government if your child is registered for the full year-round. However. We do not offer term-time-only sessions; you must be registered for the full year-round.

When can I use the funding hours?

- The government funding is available for 38 weeks of the year only.

- 15 hours of funding can be used towards 3 morning or afternoon sessions (from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm or from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm)) or 2 school sessions (from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm)

- 30 hours of funding can be used towards 4 school days' sessions (from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm) or can be used towards 3 full days (from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm)

What happens during half-term and holidays?

- During half-term breaks and other holiday periods, government funding does not apply because it is only attended for term time.

- The standard nursery fee will apply during the half-term breaks (as the funding cannot be used)

What do I need to do next?

- Before applying for a funded place, please ensure you have the government funding code ready.

- To register your child's place at Fairyland, we ask for a completed application form, a £100 registration fee, and a deposit of a one-month fee.

- To cancel your place, 6 weeks' notice is required, and on your last day, your deposit will be refunded to your account.

Example:

- Term-time (38 weeks): your child is entitled to 15/30 funded hours per week.

- Half-term weeks (13 weeks): During these weeks, you will be charged the standard nursery rate.

We hope this clarifies how the funding works at Fairyland, but if you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Dear Parents and carers,

As part of the government’s 15- and 30-hour early education funding, we are required to clearly explain how we use the funding and why an additional fee is charged for children accessing these funded hours.

About the Funding

The government funding is intended to cover only the fundamental childcare element. It does not cover the full cost of providing high-quality early years education, nor does it include many of the essential services, resources, and consumables that we give every day.

Why We Charge an Additional Fee

To maintain the high standard of care and education your child receives, we apply a weekly charge. This contribution enables us to continue offering a safe, nurturing, and well-resourced environment. The fee helps cover the following:

  • Staffing and high adult-to-child ratios that exceed minimum requirements
  • Meals, snacks, drinks, and any dietary-specific food
  • Consumables, including nappies, wipes, gloves, sun cream, craft materials, baking ingredients, and cleaning products
  • Educational resources and equipment, both indoors and outdoors
  • Extra activities and enhancements, such as dance class, physical development sessions, and sensory or messy play materials
  • Premises costs, including heating, lighting, maintenance, and insurance
  • Safety and compliance, including fire checks, health and safety equipment, and regular training for staff

The government does not fund these items, and they are essential to maintaining the quality and breadth of experiences we offer.

Our Commitment

We remain committed to:

  • Providing high-quality early education for every child
  • Being transparent about how fees are used
  • Ensuring our setting continues to be safe, engaging, and enriching

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the funding or the additional charge, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always happy to help.
